Labuan Bajo is a beautiful place to spend a few days with family and friends. This fascinating island surrounding the hills leaves you wanting more every time you visit.

As you may know, Labuan Bajo is used as a transit hub to see the Komodo Dragons in Komodo National Park – the only place you can come face-to-face with the Komodos in the wild. Since climate is such an important factor to consider for your travel preparation, make sure to know what kind of clothes you bring, essential products to choose and which it’s more convenient to travel with suitcases or backpacks. So, here are some quick insider tips before traveling to Labuan Bajo!

Pack beachwear

You’ll likely be surrounded by islands and might find yourself doing an Island-Hopping, jumping-off point from one destination to another. Don’t forget to bring lightweight outfits, some shorts, a beach waterproof bag, a wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses.

Use a comfortable footwear

We suggest you use flip-flops or sandals for strolling around the beach and sport shoes if you are going hiking to the mountains. Make sure to always use comfy footwear for your daily wear.

Put on sunscreen

Before heading outside, it is essential to put on sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher because the heat is too intense. The hottest hourly temperature is between 12 PM and 3 PM. Make sure to choose UV-protective fabrics and lightweight clothes to help improve airflow while still providing coverage to your arms fully. 

Don’t overpack and bring suitcases

Since we’re moving a lot around and traveling on a boat, bringing big suitcases might not be ideal. A backpack seems a better choice and more convenient when traveling from place to place.
