Island Hopping in Labuan Bajo

Island hopping is one of the great experiences you should explore while visiting Labuan Bajo. Since you’re surrounded by the islands and hills, most tours will offer a full-day island hopping from pink sand beaches to stunning marine biodiversity. They also include all these amazing activities such as snorkeling, swimming, hiking, wildlife watching and sunset viewing. 

There are many tourist attractions in Labuan Bajo, but here are top nearby islands to visit in the area.

Padar Island 

Padar island is known for breathtaking panoramic views. It is the third largest island in Komodo island after Komodo Island and Rinca Island. This island offers a range of exciting activities to do for travelers especially if you’re up to some adventurous challenge. 

Usually, we start the hike at around 5:30 AM to catch a sunrise and the journey to the uphill takes an average of 55 minutes to complete.

Kelor Island

The island highlights white sandy beaches, vibrant coral reefs and crystal clear seas. A short hike of 15 minutes will lead to the top of the panoramic view and it will be the perfect spot to take selfies. The crystal waters in Kelor Island are ideal for visitors for snorkeling.

Rinca Island

Rinca Island is one of many islands located in Komodo island and is home to the  population of Komodo dragons. This island is smaller and less known than Komodo Island, only occupying about 18,500 hectares and mostly covered by savanna landscapes.

Kanawa Island 

The island of Kanawa is a small island that offers such a wonderful tourist spot. The turquoise ocean water attracts many tourists to snorkel and dive around the island. Best time to explore Kanawa Island is during the dry season, between April to December.
